The Jonas Brothers had the whole Mall of Asia Arena burnin’ up as they took the stage last January 22, 2024 for their second concert in the country - a full 12 years since their last!
The Monster got to witness the first international show of ‘Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour’ this 2024, and we’re here to give you a round up of the three things we loved most about the concert:
1. IT WAS A SHOW FOR BOTH OLD AND NEW FANS
Whether you were a tween who loved ‘em during their Disney days or you became a fan of their funkier songs post-reunion, and Kevin made sure to make the whole night enjoyable for everybody!
The brothers performed songs from all five of their albums: self-titled debut “Jonas Brothers”, sophomore album “A Little Bit Longer,” their last pre-hiatus studio record “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” 2019 comeback “Happiness Begins”, and their latest release “The Album.” They also made sure to include songs from their solo ventures: Nick’s ‘Jealous’ and ‘Cake by the Ocean’ by Joe’s DNCE.
We’d have to give a special mention, though, to their performances of ‘Gotta Find You,’ ‘Introducing Me,’ and ‘Play My Music’ - that portion of the show definitely took us back to simpler times! Connect 3, you will always be famous!
2. THE JONAS BROTHERS' MUSICAL GROWTH WAS EVIDENT
Aside from taking us on a journey through their discography, the Jonas Brothers showed us that they are true music veterans through the quality of their performance. They were pros at getting the crowd hyped and interacting with fans, and most importantly: their vocals were insane!
This was most highlighted during their performance of ‘Walls’ - the live band arrangement, the harmonies, the high notes - everything was on point. You could tell that they’ve dedicated their almost 20-year-old career to honing their craft!
3. THE CROWD'S ENERGY WAS NEXT LEVEL
While Joe, Nick, and Kevin left us speechless and breathless with their performances, best believe their Filo fans made sure to impress them as well! The crowd sang along to almost all of the songs, and the brothers were clearly thrilled to hear the crowd’s beautiful voices. Everyone was up in their seats, hands (and phone lights) up in the air and having the time of their life!
Filo Jonatics’ also prepared a simple fan project, showing the boys a huge banner with lyrics from the band’s song ‘That’s Just The Way We Roll.’ “WE’RE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW, WE’RE NEVER LETTING GO,” it said - and with the huge turnout of the Jonas Brothers’ loyal fans even after over a decade since their last PH show, we’d say there’s no lie there!
“This is the first show of the international leg of the tour, and you guys are kicking it off with a bang,” Nick said. Joe added: "I have to say, we have to come back sooner."
We’ll be waiting ’til then, guys! Thank you for such a wonderful night!
