Thousands of Sheerios gathered at the concert grounds of SM Mall of Asia. There were fans who lined up as early as 12 PM on April 8. The festive spirit was there from the time Ed did his soundcheck until the end of the show. Those who didn't get the chance to cop some tickets waited outside the concert venue to have their own listening party.

Ed, Manila, and his Loop Station
Ed Sheeran started the show by explaining that he will be performing using his loop pedal and that everything that we will be hearing that night will be live, no backing tracks. He had been starting his shows this way following a twitter incident last year where trolls accused him of using pre-recorded tracks. He ended the issue by tweeting back: “Never thought I’d have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it’s a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x.”

Ed Sheeran Loves his Filipino Fans
It is quite a lovely feeling when the artist you love so dearly loves you just as much. During the concert, Ed repeatedly told the crowd how he loves his Filipino fans. We were so kilig when he said, "We had the loudest crowd in the shows so far was in Dunedin, New Zealand but I knew that when I came to the Philippines we would have a louder crowd," and then the crowd went wild. He even cited how happy he is that his album reached 8x platinum in the Philippines saying, “What I love about that is that in my own home country I won 8x platinum which means you have the equal amount of love for me. This says a lot and I feel really really glad to be here.”

He even took a massive selfie with the crowd, aw mehn!

We Only Cried 45 Times
Ed Sheeran performed on a stage with a raised platform in the middle, a big screen as a backdrop, and multiple screens above.

It is really incredible how he does the show on his own with layers of vocals and guitars that sound like they were played by a full band. His whole Divide Tour setlist was an emotional train we weren't prepared to be on. Ed started the concert by playing "Castle on the Hill," a very energetic song that set the mood of the whole concert: rhythmic, nostalgic, and full of guitar heroics.

Swapping guitars in between songs, he performed tracks from his Divide album like “Perfect,” "Nancy Mulligan," “Galway Girl,” “Dive,” and “Happier,” He also sang songs from his Multiply album like "Thinking Out Loud," "Photograph," "Bloodstream," and "Tenerife Sea."

Watch "Happier" here

The crowd turned into a sea of lights moving in unison when Ed performed a full-acoustic rendition of "A Team," no looping, just pure folky-pop goodness.

He came out after lights out to perform not one, not two, but three encore songs! He ran back onstage where a piano was set in the middle for “Shape of you,” and then he performed "Sing," and the bomb "You Need Me, I Don't Need You."

We were bummed that he didn't play "Lego House" and "Supermarket Flowers" but we were totally out of our heads going crazy over this pop-folk singer-songwriter redhead!

Monster Jocks JC and Dale also went to the concert grounds to watch Ed Sheeran live. Look at these cuties! :)

Postponed Show
The Manila leg of his Divide Tour was originally scheduled November 2017 but was postponed due to an injury he got from a biking accident.
