Suho made a memory that’s one of a kind for Filo EXO-Ls as he kicked off his “Welcome to SU:HOME” Asia Tour right here in Manila! Held last June 22 at the Araneta Coliseum, the Monster was able to witness EXO’s beloved leader tear up the stage in his first solo concert in the country, and we’re here to give you the rundown.
“Welcome to SU:HOME” was unlike your typical K-Pop concert. There was no extended stage, not one song performed with strict choreography or backup dancers. Instead, the show was just so “Suho” — the three-storey “house” stage design as well as the expansive curtain that served as a projector screen highlighted Junmyeon’s experience as a theater actor, while the live band that accompanied him let Suho unleash his inner rockstar!
From mellower tunes such as ‘Curtain,’ ‘Starry Night,’ and ‘Wishful Thinking’ to his funkier, upbeat songs like ‘1 to 3,’ ‘Hurdle,’ and ‘Alright Alright, Suho made sure to show his versatility as a vocalist in his 24-track setlist. He also treated EXO-Ls to a special performance of EXO’s ‘The First Snow’ and a rock medley of some of their greatest hits, namely ‘Growl,’ ‘Overdose,’ and ‘Monster’ – best believe the crowd went especially crazy during those parts, with all Eribongs up in the air!
Towards the end of the show, Suho showed his gratitude to all the Filo EXO-Ls for their unending support. “For the Manila EXO-Ls who have been cheering hard for me, thank you so much,” he said. “I’m so relieved and so happy that Manila is the first country of this tour. Magsama tayo magpakailanman. Mahal kita! Mahal na mahal kita!”
Wrapping up the show was the most heartfelt performance of ‘Made In You,’ and promise to return to the Philippines soon, and with the EXO members if possible.
We will be waiting, our leader! Thank you for making us feel at home on a starry night!
Big thanks to Wilbros Live for making this event possible.
