K-Pop boy band NCT 127 rolled up to one hell of a party when they took over the Philippine Sports Stadium stage for “NEO CITY: THE UNITY in Bulacan”! The Monster got to kick it with Filo Chilzens to see the 127 squad live last January 21, 2023, and we’re here to give you the rundown!
Though the show was slated to start at 6:30 PM, thousands of fans dressed in their best concert OOTDs were already at the venue as early as 10 AM to visit the official fan hub, meet up with fellow Czennies, and exchange freebies and fan support.
When night came, the energy in the stadium was electric as Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan came into view and the opening notes of ‘Punch’ were heard through the speakers! This was then followed by back-to-back high-energy performances of 'Superhuman,' 'Ay-Yo,' and beloved b-sides 'Crash Landing,' 'Space,' 'Time Lapse,' and 'Skyscraper' - all neobongs were up and everyone was having a ball!
Ilichil then took the chance to say their greetings and welcome their fans to the show, stating just how much they missed the Philippines. “We did a rehearsal this morning and the sky was amazing, but the nighttime with you guys is even better,” Jaehyun said. “I love the breeze, the vibe and the energy. Let’s keep it up until the end!” As expected, Filo Chilzens rose up to that challenge, sustaining the tension all throughout the three-hour long show!
NCT 127 then showed off their mastery of shifting between genres, performing 'Parade,' 'DJ,' 'Yacht,' 'Je Ne Sais Quoi,' 'Fire Truck,' 'Sit Down!' 'Chain,' and 'Cherry Bomb.' The last four songs of this section were particularly explosive, as fireworks accompanied the leveled-up arrangements of these fan favorites!
And while Ilichil is more known for their strong hip-hop tracks and crazy performances, the group proved that their vocals are not to be underestimated when they slowed it down with ‘Gold Dust,' 'Fly Away With Me,' 'White Lie,' and 'Love is a beauty.' It was also during this time that Filo Chilzens showed their fan support, particularly for 127 main vocal Taeil, who unfortunately could not join this tour due to an injury. Touching banners were raised and yellow lights filled up the stadium - it was a very heartwarming scene to witness.
After wiping their tears, Czennies then were ready to party with the neos once again as they raised the energy level to 100 by performing ‘Simon Says,' 'Tasty,' 'Favorite (Vampire),' 'Kick It,' '2 Baddies,' and 'Fact Check'! Our ears were ringing with just how loud the crowd was while singing along, we honestly almost gave the boys a run for their money!
To wrap up the show, NCT 127 sang 'Angel Eyes,' their latest winter single 'Be There For Me,' and 'Promise You' - all songs highlighting their beautiful bond with their Chilzens.
The members then thanked their Filo fans for attending the concert and their unending support. “I just hope the next time we’re here, I think we should have at least two days of the show. This will not be the end, it cannot be the end,” Mark said in his ending ment. Johnny added: “Thank you, Philippines! We’ll be back! Remember, NCT 127 will always, always be there for you!” Johnny said in his ending ment.
