American progressive metal-rock band DREAM THEATER rocked out at New Frontier Theater last May 4 for their Top Of The World Tour, and Filipino metalheads had a hell of a good time!
The Grammy-winning quintet band consisting of James Labrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung, and Mike Mangini returns to the country for the second time after 6 long years, to give off an energetic and nostalgic-filled show!
Rhythmic melodies, head-banging riffs, and metallic sounds took over the theater for a two-hour-long show. It was every metalhead's dream come true to be amongst fans and enjoyers alike! Besides the rocking and screaming that enveloped the theater, vocalist James Labrie received a heartfelt birthday song from the fans as their way of celebrating his birthday which happened the day after the concert. James was truly touched by that moment, which he will remember by. The show continued on, performing the massive hits and requested tracks from their recent and previous albums, including ‘The Alien’, ‘Caught In A Web’, a reprise of ‘About To Crash’, and an encore of ‘The Count of Tuscany’.
Spotted among the audience were Pinoy rocker Dong Abay, pop-rock band HEY JUNE! and drummer of indie pop/rock band The Vowels They Orbit.
Thanks to Ovations Productions for bringing DREAM THEATER to Manila!
