And what’s best about is that a lot of these recipes are made with accessible ingredients! If you wanna try your hand at some simple but delicious recipes, here are some of our favorites:
- Banana Bread
What to do with a bunch of overripe bananas? Don’t let them go to waste and make some yummy banana bread! You can add whatever toppings or fillings you want – chocolate chips, walnuts, the possibilities are endless! This basic recipe comes from AllRecipes.com
You’ll need:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas
Directions:
- Pre-heat over to 350ºF. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and bananas until well combined.
- Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture until just combined. Pour batter into your loaf pan.
- Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean. Let cool for at least 10 minutes, then remove from pan, slice, and enjoy!

- Buffalo Wings
Missing your usual chicken wing joints? That’s no problem when you’ve got your favorite hot sauce and chicken to fry up at home! This Buffalo Wings recipe is from Bon Appetit.
You’ll need:
For the sauce
1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce or hot sauce of your choice
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne (optional, for extra heat)
For chicken
3 pounds chicken wings
3/4 cup cornstarch
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Combine the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and sit over low heat until butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Heat oil to 375ºF to prepare for frying.
- Toss chicken wings in cornstarch, salt and pepper. Shake off any excess.
- Fry wings in batches to not overcrowd your pot/pan, about 10-12 minutes per batch until crispy and golden.
- Reheat your sauce over low heat if needed.
- Pour the sauce over your chicken wings and toss in a bowl until each piece is nicely coated.
- Enjoy as is or with your favorite dipping sauce!

- Pancakes
Start your morning right and treat yourself to some homemade pancakes (or you could make these pancakes for lunch, dinner, or dessert, we won’t judge)! Here’s a recipe for Fluffy Pancakes by Erwan Heusaff.
You’ll need:
1 cup flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl (except vanilla extract). Mix with a fork and let rest for 30 minutes at room temperature. Resting your pancake batter helps it puff up more!
- Cook on low-medium heat, flipping once one side is nicely browned to your liking.
- Once the other side is cooked, transfer your pancakes to a plate and enjoy!

- Oatmeal Cookies
Wanna get your cookie fix but don’t have an oven, or can’t be bothered to bake? No-bake cookies are just as delicious! Check out this No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie recipe from Simply Bakings.
You’ll need:
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 cup cookie butter or peanut butter
1/3 cup nuts (omit if using crunchy peanut butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
Directions:
- In a saucepan over medium low, add butter and melt. Add sugar, almond milk, cocoa powder cookie butter and mix until well combined. Add nuts, vanilla extract and mix. Next add oats and mix until it is well combined. Remove from heat.
- Place cookies on parchment or wax paper and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve chilled.
