Wanderland Music Fest 2019
March 9 - 10, 2019
Fillinvest Event Grounds, Alabang
Yeah, sex is cool but have you ever spent an entire weekend listening to really really really good live music?
Cups of local beer were chugged, glitter was abused, and feels, well, they were FELT. Last weekend, we left town and dragged our fabulous asses to Alabang (haha s/o to mah north peeps)
Produced by Karpos Multimedia, Wanderland Music Fest is an outdoor festival that showcases international and local indie musicians. Now on its seventh year, Wanderland staged a 2-day festival for the first time ever (which I think was for the best HAHA)
TBH it feels so comforting to be in a safe place where you can hang with music-loving people and wear whatever you want. No matter how glittery, disco, psychedelic, street, or how revealing your outfit was, the #WanderlandCommunity just doesn't care. Everyone was just in attendance to have fun.
Honne's performance on the main stage was a highlight of the festival. The electric duo has been gaining a lot of following in the Philippines. Before Wanderland Fest 2019, Honne also performed in one of Karpos Live's series of concerts last year. By then, their's is already one of the most anticipated shows in the entire line up.
The crowd was ready and wild, if I may say so, when Honne came out. They have this sweet connection with their Filipino fans and you can feel it in their performance. They sang all my favorite hits including "I Just Wanna Go Back," "Me & You," and an encore performance of "Day 1."
We got in touch with our truest feelings with Gabrielle Aplin and her beautifully written songs. The singer from UK also expressed how excited she was that she's finally in the Philippines. Her hits include "Please Don't Say You Love Me," "Waking Up Slow," and "My Mistake. "
Prep and Masego's performances were the highlights of Wanderland Day 2. Their high energy sets made us tear up while bopping it away to sweaty Wanderland heaven. Masego's voice and take on modern jazz were epic. Remembering how he took the Wanderland crowd from this world to another is making my brain explode rn. *sax solos to the next paragraph*
If you missed this year's Wanderland Music Fest, make sure that you'll be catching next year's train to music paradise. It's an event that's much about art, fashion, and community as enjoying music that speaks your truth and makes you feel shiny and brand new and loved.
