Filipino Melodies waited for this to come — a solo BTOB show in the country! No doubt, BTOB’s ‘Our Dream’ fancon held at SM MOA Arena last April 7 was a special moment for their Filipino fans.
Minhyuk, Eunkwang, Peniel, Changsub, and Hyunsik felt all the love took over the arena that night. It would’ve been even better if Sungjae got to join the fancon. Despite his absence, Filipino Melodies never forget about BTOB’s maknae and the group also promised that he’ll be there the next time around!
Known as the ‘Vocal Kings of K-Pop’, BTOB started off strong with their vocal-driven tracks ‘The Song,’ ‘Pray (I’ll be your man),’ ‘Higher,’ and ‘It’s Okay’ followed by tracks from their recent album ‘Wind and Wish’ and ‘Day&Night’. After their opening stage, introductions were made and best believe Filipino Melodies have the most deafening screams! It was proof that BTOB’s solid Filipino fans truly missed them and having to stand in front of the Melodies was a defining moment that made every Filo Melody the happiest they can be.
Besides being known for their amazing vocal chops, BTOB is also one of the most “unserious” group to ever grace K-Pop. The 3rd Generation boy group is known for their crazy antics, chaotic nuances, and a laugh-til-your-stomach-hurts humor. Their jokes and wit are always top-tier which even non-fans find extremely hilarious! The members had a game corner where chaos just somehow ensued when the members where playing. The arena was filled with love and laughter and thanks to the hilarity and good vibes the members brought, Filo Melodies had more memories to treasure in their milestones with BTOB. Not only did hilarity ensue, heartfelt moments also happened at the fancon as BTOB read several messages written to them by Filo Melodies. Eunkwang even sang Happy Birthday to a lucky fan! It was such a sweet exchange between BTOB and their Philippine Melodies.
Not long after their segment corners, the members upped up the energy through vocals and killer dance moves! "Remember That," "Beautiful Pain," "Only one for me," "Missing You," "Blowin' Up," "Finale (Our Concert)," and "Second confession.” took up the second half of the show as fans sang and grooved along!
Closing the fancon, the members were surprised by a fan-made video letter from the Philippine fanbase which made them touched and a bit teary-eyed with that emotional and warm surprise. Peniel also encouraged everyone to do a tour trend where the members filmed the fans as part of their Asia tour IG/TikTok reels. Something Filo Melodies should watch out for soon!
The fancon ended on a high note and Filo Melodies should expect BTOB to come back real soon, and with Sungjae of course! Dreams do come true and this fancon proved that for Filo Melodies and BTOB as they reunited exclusively after 7-long years of waiting.
