TGIF indeed! We kicked off our weekend with an awesome All Out #FANtasticFriday with Rico, Karla, and special guest Rhian Ramos!
Rhian Ramos is no stranger to the antics of the All Out duo, as she’s guested in the RX booth a few times before. This hang out was different though, since the three were reunited via Facebook livestream. But being confined to the virtual world didn’t stop them from having an awesome time, and a great conversation! “I’m always game when it’s you guys, cause you guys are so good vibes and I love hanging out with you!” Rhian told Karla and Rico. Aww, they were super flattered – the feeling is mutual, Rhian!
They spent this time catching up with Rhian on her quarantine life for the past few months. For Rhian, it’s been a test of caring for her home, her cat, and of course herself!
First and foremost, Rhian knows that this pandemic hasn’t been easy for many Filipinos, whether it’s physically, financially, or mentally. She admits that like many people, she’s been taken out of her element and really had to adjust to quarantine life. But she reminded the audience that being in quarantine isn’t a productivity contest! “People get guilty when the things that they’re doing with their time isn’t like, productive enough, but I don’t think we should. Because this is a very out-of-the-ordinary thing, we all need something to be good at and it doesn’t really matter what it is.” So she says if you thrive on baking bread, or playing video games, just do you! No need to match whatever skills people have been posting online.
She also knows what a struggle working from home can be (girl, we get you), especially because you’re in an environment that you’re not used to. Home can be full of distractions, and getting work done at a fast rate can be tough! “You’re not gonna be perfect at working from home, especially not right away. You can build a system to help you,” Rhian said. “But all of these things we see on social media, they’re not as easy to put into practice as they seem. So, don’t over pressure yourself to over perform.” A+ advice for the work-from-home professionals!
As for Rhian, she is an expert at living solo and maintaining things on her own, since she lived alone in New York for a couple of months in the past. “If it had not been for that, I would not survive ECQ the same way!” she explained. We stan an independent woman!
One new thing we’ve learned about Rhian is that she’s got an obsession for random products you can get online. You know, the type of things you see on home shopping channels and from ads that pop up on your Facebook feed? Rhian defended her purchases by saying, “Somewhere in these products there are life hacks!” A few random things she’s hoarded from online stores: a travel-sized steamer, a strange clothing iron/clamp device (yeah, we’re trying to picture it, too), and some vegetable chopping devices that only really have one purpose. We can only imagine how funny it must be when new random product arrives every few days!
Another activity that’s been keeping Rhian Ramos occupied is making YouTube videos! She’s been on YouTube for about a year now, and posts different challenges and vlogs that her fans love to see. “The audience that YouTube has is a lot less judgmental than any of the other social platforms,” Rhian told the All Out hosts (Karla can def relate, since she’s a YouTuber herself!). She says people are more accepting of your ‘weird side’ and uniqueness on the platform! She’s in control of her videos, too – she likes to take charge of how the stories in her videos are told, but she does have some help with animations and sound effects. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you’re missing out!
Some YouTubers that Rhian would love to collaborate with? For one, she’s fond of local mukbang-er Kelly Chews (Kelly Cruz) and her energetic personality. A mukbang collab with Rhian and Kelly would be so fun to watch! She also enjoys Wil Dasovich’s videos and sees him as a YouTube OG. “He’s such a light, you know? He spreads positivity wherever, and [he always has] little bits of wisdom in his videos.” Karla agreed and said that Rhian’s and Wil’s energies would match perfectly. It’s a collab we really hope will happen in the future!
Fans of Rhian were so stoked to see this next part: Rhian’s Condo Tour! As Rhian said, it’s a very highly requested video from the CybeRhians, her online fanbase, and we got a Monster exclusive peek at it during All Out! She showed us her modern, minimalist condo (“minimal-ish” she called it) including her very chic bathroom + skin care products, and her kitchen filled with her fave food staples.
In case you’re wondering, no, Rhian Ramos doesn’t live in her home alone! Though he’s out of the country right now, Rhian’s boyfriend lives with her (and of course, we can’t forget her cat), and fans were eager to ask about her relationship. Kumusta na raw ang puso ni Rhian Ramos? It turns out the quarantine may have “killed the clingy” in Rhian! “I was clingy when I was working because I’d be taping three times a week, and he’d be at the office like six times a week,” she said. But since the lockdown happened, they spent all their time together – Clingy Rhian no more! Although, now that he’s in Israel for a few weeks, we wonder if the clingy side will start to show again?
Aside from missing her boyfriend, Rhian also told us that she really misses her fans, and told Rico and Karla all about how amazing they are. “I’m so blessed because they’re such good people,” she said. “When I’m going through great things, it’s always so much fun to share these moments with them, because they will celebrate harder than I do! They’re the happiest for me when things are going well in my life.” She also shared how the fans show Rhian their love and support: on her birthday, they open a fund and collect donations for a good cause. We love that! What a kind-hearted and loving fan base she has!
A piece of advice that Rhian gave to her fans watching, and to everyone who might need it: “It would really help to not pressure yourself right now. Even if you don’t realize it, you’re in a mourning period.” One thing that she likes to do pretty regularly is to cry it out and understand her feelings, “I’m much more able afterwards to think about my next step, because I’m not so lost.” So, if you’ve gotta cry, then cry! You heard it from Rhian Ramos herself.
On a positive note, she also commended how people have been using their voices online. “Social media has become what it was designed to do before we poisoned it. We’re using it to stay connected, encourage each other, and spread positivity.” We hope it stays this way, too!
It was a pleasure to have Rhian back on All Out. This lady is truly wise beyond her years, and we wish her nothing but success and happiness! We hope she gets to visit the RX booth again real soon, fingers crossed! If you missed the live interview, check it out here (plus don’t miss that awesome condo tour!):
