This couple has been the talk of the town since 2021 started! Rico and Karla talked to Derek Ramsay and Ellen Adarna for an exclusive All Out interview on March 4. 

First things first, let’s set the record straight: Derek and Ellen confirmed that they became official on February 4! That’s exactly one month ago – happy monthsary, you two! 

We got the scoop on exactly how this couple came to be: Even though they’re neighbors, the two never officially met (although Ellen jokes, “He stalked me!”) until Derek was invited by John Estrada to a dinner with Ellen. When Derek walked in, Ellen couldn’t help but stop and stare. “Ang gwapo pala niya in person,” she gushed.

They hit it off that night and continued to spend time together with friends and neighbors. From there, the friendship blossomed into a relationship. No matter how much they tried to fight the feeling, Derek and Ellen’s chemistry was undeniable. Just seeing how giddy and playful these two were during the whole interview is enough proof for us! “The great thing about this relationship is that everything was so natural,” Derek said.

So, in the past month, what have these two come to learn about each other? Ellen admitted that her assumptions about Derek were completely wrong: “I told him that I thought he was an a**hole before. But he is very respectful and very sweet!” 

Derek said he appreciates how open and honest Ellen is, with him and with everyone. “A lot of people know this, Ellen is super smart. She has some amazing views on life that actually, I’m trying to apply to my life.” He also called Ellen a supermom, saying that many people are quick to judge Ellen without seeing how great of a mom she is to two-year-old Elias. “Even if she gets drunk the night before, she is there for her son! 5:30 am, gising na ‘yan to take care of her son.” 

As a couple, they’re working on their weaker points together so that the rest of the relationship is smooth sailing. “She’s not afraid to show me her dark side this early in the relationship, and I like that. I feel the same way,” Derek told Rico and Karla. He joked about putting their ‘worst food forward,’ but it seems like that has worked! 

Never did it cross their minds that the start of this relationship would create such a buzz. “I didn’t expect it to be viral. But it’s all over,” Ellen said. Most days, she doesn’t let the negative comments bother her at all. She even gets a laugh out of the memes and shares them! But on those rare days that she does feel bothered, she just focuses on the more positive things. Now, they’re just enjoying each other’s company, as any couple should. 

Ellen and Derek’s love advice? “Don’t be afraid! Jump in there. Sometimes it will hurt, sometimes it will pay off!” Derek also revealed his key to happiness in a relationship: Laughter. “We laugh all the time. We go to bed talking and laughing, we fall asleep, we wake up and just pick up where we left off.”
