Rico and Karla kicked off the first FANtastic Friday of August with this fiery celeb couple: Jake Cuenca & Kylie Versoza! We’ve met these two separately in the Monster booth, when they were still single, and it’s sooo nice to see them both together and in love! I mean, how much more good looking can a couple get?!
As we’ve heard from many of our Monster guests in the past few months, being quarantined with your partner is a whole new learning experience! The same can be said for Jake and Kylie. They’ve spent this time getting closer than ever, focusing on their relationship and being good fur-parents to their two dogs. “Normally when you’re working, you’re not completely there. We could be out on a date and we’re already thinking about the next day’s schedule,” Jake said about their previous routine. But since they’ve been stuck at home, hectic schedules and distractions aren’t much of a problem now. “I consider myself lucky to be with Kylie and the dogs in a good environment.”
Kylie agreed, saying, “I got to spend time with Jake, got to know his every nook and cranny. With everything happening, I went through it with Jake, too.” Aww, if this couple can brave a pandemic together, they can face anything. We also got to say hi to their fur babies, Leo the poodle and Nuggie the bulldog! Jake was hardly a dog person before, but now, he can’t imagine lockdown without them!
When it comes to work, Jake explained that being in quarantine has saved him from burning out. “It’s good to miss work,” he said. “It’s really reinvigorated my passion. I’ve always been passionate about work, but even more so now.” Kylie, on the other hand, has taken most of her work home with her, shooting for endorsements with the help of a tripod, a ring light, and of course her IG-boyfriend-in-the-making! Aside from keeping solo projects going, Jake and Kylie also got to work on a movie this quarantine! The two starred in iWant’s original movie, “Love Lockdown” also starring Angelica Panganiban, JM De Guzman, Tony Labrusca, and Sue Ramirez. As the title suggests, this movie was shot while the actors were all in lockdown, so the process was very different from what they’re used to. Jake admitted he was more worried about the technical aspects: lighting, audio, camera angles, and the like.
Kylie was the one who was a bit more worried about the acting aspect of it, since she hadn’t acted in a while. “I came in a bit cold, and that’s when I needed Jake for help.” In the end, these two proved that they make a good team! “Love Lockdown” got positive feedback – congrats to everyone involved!
