Post-hardcore sensations Saosin treated the SM North EDSA Skydome to a sonic feast last November 3 and 4 for the Manila stop of their 2023 Asia tour! The Monster got to rock out with them during Day 1 thanks to Pulp Live World, and it was most definitely an electrifying experience.
The American rock band was formed in 2003 and is composed of vocalist Cove Reber, guitarist Beau Burchell, bassist Chris Sorenson and drummer Alex Rodriguez. Their last show in the Philippines was a whole 13 years ago, so they made sure that their comeback was worth the wait by performing their biggest hits and more for their Filipino fans!
But first, setting the tone for the night was front act Defying Decay, a Thai alternative metal band. They got the crowd fired up by performing ‘System of Sinners,’ ‘Headrush,’ their latest single ‘Clouds’ and more, even coming down to join the crowd during their last song!
Then, when the first few chords of 'It's Far Better to Learn' were heard through the speakers, it was pandemonium.
Saosin took the stage and tore it up as they performed 'Sleepers,' 'Lost Symphonies,' 'Bury Your Head,' 'I Can Tell There Was an Accident Here Earlier,' 'Come Close,' a cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Zero,’ 'Translating the Name,' 'Collapse,' 'Seven Years,' 'Voices,' and 'You're Not Alone.‘ It was actually vocalist Cove’s first time singing some of these songs again after almost 15 years – so one could really say that the Manila setlist was special!
Filipino fans, of course, made sure to show their appreciation by screaming their hearts out and giving back the same fiery energy. Best believe Cove, Beau, Chris, and Alex were more than impressed!
Thank you for a solid night of rock n' roll, Saosin! 'Til we meet again!
