Filipino-American musician and founding member of the hiphop group Black Eyed Peas, comes home to the Filipino crowd with a night of music, dancing, & heartfelt stories about his hometown, Pampanga, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last August 27.

Allan Pineda Lindo, more commonly known as BEP’s Apl De Ap, warms up the Filipino crowd as he enters the stage wearing a custom fit Francis Libiran barong during his opening solo performance.

The crowd filled the arena with high anticipation and excitement fueled by the upbeat house music that truly set the vibe for the night. “Like a party on a week day night,” as the feels suggest, the arena was lit with bright flashing strobe lights with BEP  leading the crowd to jumping and dancing.

Black Eyed Peas got the night started with their early 2000s hit, “Let’s Get It Started” that sparked the exhilarating screams of the crowd. Followed by the group’s introduction that rocked the crowd with, “Rock That Body.”

The night grew avidly as each of BEP’s members performed their solos — each with a story of their own from themes such as hometown stories, their personal journeys, and how they found their way to the Black Eyed Peas. Taboo, Black Eyed Peas’ musician takes on a sentimental performance with his solo, “EAST LA” where he reminisced the warm love of family in his hometown, Los Angeles, California.

As homage to the Filipino crowd, surprise appearances from homegrown talents such as Sandara Park and Ez Mil truly left the crowd astounded. The evening drew to a powerful close with a medley from BEP’s hits including, “Imma Be.” As a final act of homage to his country, Apl de Ap brings out a Philippine flag — a symbol of the Filipino pride they carried from every step of the BEP’s journey that led them to the international music scene.

Thank you, Black Eyed Peas, for a night of incomparable warmth and enjoyment for the Filipino crowd.
