Bryan Adams took us to ~heaven~ as he worked his musical magic at the Araneta Coliseum last March 15, 2023 for the Manila leg of his ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour.
He opened the show with the upbeat ‘Kick Ass,’ ‘Can’t Stop This,’ and ‘Somebody.’The Big Dome then seemed to turn into a huge karaoke room as the crowd joined him in singing ‘Please Forgive Me,’ ‘Shine A Light,’ and ‘Heaven’!
Adams was no exception to the long list of international acts enamored with the Filipino crowd and their energy. “Let’s just say tonight, this wasn’t a concert, it was a magic show, okay? Magic in Manila, that’s what I’m gonna call it,” he said.
Matching the crowd’s energy, the Canadian singer showed no signs of slowing down as he crooned hit after hit after hit, including ‘Do I Have To Say The Words,’ ‘It’s Only Love,’ ‘Please Forgive Me,’ ‘Everything I Do,’ and ‘Summer of ’69’. Truly, Bryan Adams’ discography is so diverse — from swaying with one hand on the chest and the other in the air to jumping out of our seat to dance, the set list got us going through different emotions all throughout the night!
One of the highlights of the show was the search for the best dancer in the audience during ‘You Belong To Me.’ An audience member was always so enthusiastically grooving when the camera panned to her that she was invited by Adams to come down for a front row view of all the action! How lucky!
For the encore, he then slowed it down with an acoustic version of ‘Straight From The Heart’ and ‘All For Love’.
Thank you for a magical night, Bryan Adams! Shoutout to Wilbros Live for making this event possible!
