In the ever-evolving music industry, some bands go beyond time and trends, leaving a lasting impression on generations of fans. Busted is definitely one of those bands. For their 20th anniversary, this iconic British group is not just looking back on their smash hits but they’re also moving forward with so much in store. Rico and Kayla caught up with the band as they delve into their past, present, and future which promises nothing but extraordinary!
Busted’s journey as a band over the past two decades has been quite outstanding. The band embarked on a celebratory tour that promises to be quite the experience to mark that milestone. Frontman Charlie Simpson shares, “Our tour intro is probably the coolest intro I’ve ever made.” Fans can expect a thrilling ride through their discography, playing old and new hits in a mesmerizing spectacle that only Busted can pull off!
The reach of the band’s music has always been far and wide but the band expressed how thrilled they are that it’s not bound by borders. They expressed their gratitude for radio stations like Monster RX, which bring their music to corners of the world they’ve never physically been to. Proof of the universality of their sound and the unwavering support of their fans.
Busted’s decision to revive their iconic track, “Year 3000” with The Jonas Brothers isn’t just another collaboration. It’s a reference to pop culture history! The Jonas Brothers covered the song back in 2006, thus the idea of revisiting it with the band makes so much sense. Busted band members explained, “We didn’t actually wanna do it with anyone else. If they would’ve said no we would’ve just done it ourselves.” It’s a blend of the two artists that resonates with the fans both old and new.
Setting their recent musical journey aside, each member of the band has their favorite line from the songs they’ve released. For Matt Willis, the band’s bassist/vocalist, it’s “Sharks swim through my veins,” a line from their hit song “Sleeping With The Light On.”
