Boybands of the 90s took the world by storm, and Irish boyband Westlife was a staple of that era. A wave of nostalgia enveloped The Big Dome last February 20; the boyband performed their 2-day sold-out “Wild Dreams Tour” in Manila!

Shane, Nicky, Kian, and Mark stepped out in their dashing black and white outfits and opened the show with ‘Starlight,’ followed by their classic hit ‘Uptown Girl,’ and the upbeat ‘When You’re Lookin’ Like That.’ The hype was already wild just at the start of the show! Westlife has noticed how the Manila crowd was their “loudest crowd ever,” and we couldn’t agree more! The screams and energy were at an all-time high in an instant.

Members Shane and Kian took the time to give heartfelt speeches to their loving fans as the songs ‘Fool Again,’ ‘If I Let You Go,’ ‘My Love,’ and ‘Swear It Again’ were sung in-between speeches. The crowd was instantly transported back to their childhood and early days hearing these sweet, sentimental songs from the boyband that we grew up with. 

Following that fantastic show start, Westlife performed an ABBA medley which got all the titos and titas of Manila dancing like there’s no tomorrow! They then transitioned to a mix of ‘What About Now’ and ‘Mandy.’ Nicky and Mark said their genuine thoughts to the crowd within performances of ‘I Lay My Love On You,’ ‘Seasons In The Sun,’ ‘World Of Our Own/Crazy,’ and ‘Flying Without Wings.’

Ending their jovial yet sentimental show was an encore stage of ‘Hello My Love’ and ‘You Raise Me Up’. It was a 90s dream come true in the year 2020s! Westlife has come a long way, yet their charm and stage presence still felt the same as two decades ago!
