Cebuana singer-songwriter Jolianne officially released her debut EP ‘Plain Girl,’ on January 31, marking a significant milestone in her music career. In the same month, she performed her heartfelt songs exclusively here on the Concert Series, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in her journey.

A special listening party at the Careless Complex was held a night before the release. Friends and fellow artists gathered for an intimate night of music. The party celebrated creativity, friendship, and self-expression, with everyone making friendship bracelets and immersing themselves in the depths of Jolianne’s work.

Jolianne shared that ‘Plain Girl’ has been four years in the making. She explained that the EP is a coming-of-age project, with songs written from the age of 16 to 20. Each track represents a different phase of her growth, reflecting the emotions, challenges, and discoveries that shaped her into the artist she is today.

‘Plain Girl’ tells the story of a young woman stepping out of her comfort zone, and embracing both the beauty and struggles of life and love.

The EP features six tracks — ‘Maybe I’m Yours,’ ‘Plain Girl,’ ‘I’ll Be Somebody You Want’, ‘Afterthought,’ ‘Let Me Down Easy,’ and ‘Are You Happy Now (Take One)’ — each having a glimpse into the experiences that defined her formative years.

Jolianne continues to inspire people with her vulnerability and authenticity, encouraging others to embrace life’s journey without fear; where growth and love are all part of the process.
