The album is packed with a diverse set of songs from ballads, R&B, and pop music. In producing the songs, Kyla collaborated with different friends and music artists like Jay Durias, REQ, and Inigo Pascual. When asked about her current aim as an artist, she said: “As an artist, you always wanna try new things.” She added that there’s a thrill to exploring a different sound and vibe when creating an album.

Kyla tugged at out heartstring when she serenaded us with two tracks from her new album. Written by her friend Aliya Parcs, “My Melody” is the singer’s personal favorite as it expresses a mother’s love for her daughter.

Her other song was “Proper Heartbreak”, written by Jude Gitamondoc, Therese Villarante, and Maeren Sanoria. It is a powerful song that revolves around heartbreak, loss, and pain. Kyla was teary-eyed as she sang this for us and admitted that she can personally relate to this song but in a completely different context.

The singer revealed on air that she had a miscarriage earlier this year and her baby was only 11 weeks old at that time. She has been receiving constant support from her family and has been trying to deal with the loss. “It helps a lot also when I read blogs about people, like women who went through the same experience as me.” As she heals herself, she emphasized that “you just have to keep moving forward.”

This woman’s incredible strength and down-to-earth personality were very moving! She definitely inspired and made us love her even more.

For her last song, Kyla performed “Mahal Kita Pero Konti Lang.”
