It was an extra sweet morning for The Morning Rush last April 21, Tuesday, as they were joined by Hailee Steinfeld on Facebook Live!

 There was excitement online, not just from the TMR hosts, but from Hailee’s Filipino fans who couldn’t wait to see their fave singer on the Monster’s livestream. As Chico, Rica, Markki, and Hazel said their hi’s and hello’s to Hailee through video chat, she assured everyone that she and her family are all safe and healthy in this quarantine period. In fact, she’s gotten a lot of work done, and her latest project is coming sooner than you think!

 “I’ve got part one of a two-part project coming out in… 11 days? Maybe 12!” Hailee revealed. “I’m very excited for people to hear it; this is the first body of work in music that I’ll be putting out in years.” Her two latest tracks “I Love You’s” and “Wrong Direction” will be part of the release, along with three new songs. Can’t wait to hear them!

Hailee told TMR a bit about the journey of completing this new project, saying “I feel like I go through stages with this stuff, where you write the songs, and you feel super pumped about them, like you could literally put them out the next day. And then obviously, a lot of time goes by, you end up finishing the record… and now that it’s finally coming out, I don’t even know how to feel about it anymore! I’m excited, I’m also scared.”

 Aside from preparing for the release, what else has Hailee been up to the past few weeks at home? When it comes to music, this girl set up her own home studio! Pretty amazing! She’s also been enjoying her mom’s delicious cooking and spending time with Martini, her adorable little puppy who got a lot of screen time during the video call! How timely that The Morning Rush Top Ten topic of the day was #WhatMyPetMustBeThinking!  

We love that Hailee’s Filipino fans set their alarms and got up early in the morning to tune in to the livestream. Talk about dedication! And Hailee made sure to show the fans how much she appreciates them, too. “I’ve always felt an overwhelming amount of love from my Filipino fans, and I hope they know that,” she told TMR. “I’m making myself as available as I can to them. You know, it is a hard time, so as long as I can do whatever I can for them then I’m happy to be here talking to you guys right now, and connecting with them whenever I can!”

 Talking to Hailee was an amazing way to start the morning, and we’re so glad that she got to do a special something for her fans here in the Philippines! Don’t forget to check out her new release in just a few days!
