Last October 13, K-Pop power trio Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation, Yugyeom of GOT7, and Taemin of SHINee took over MOA Arena as solo artists. With fiery performances, smooth moves, and striking vocals, fans of different fandoms experienced a magical, solid night!
First to open the show is the Mother of all Mothers, the Queen, the one and only HYO or Hyoyeon! You might know this multi-talented idol from the iconic Girls’ Generation as the group’s Main Dancer and Rapper. Hyoyeon wow-ed the crowd with the extremely catchy opener of her latest release ‘Picture’ followed by ‘Deep’. She then took the time to say hello to her SONEs and her individual stans. It’s been a while since Hyoyeon was back in the country, her recent being back in 2020 for a DJ gig as DJ HYO in Resorts World Manila. She’s back as Hyoyeon and ready to bring her flawless choreographies to the stage! The rest of her set was followed by ‘Second,’ ‘DESSERT,’ and ended with ‘Sober. Hyoyeon set the stage on fire, starting off strong and bringing the power to K-Magic Live!
Following Hyoyeon’s stage is GOT7 member and solo artist the ever-so-cool and smooth Yugyeom! Deafening screams enveloped the entire arena. Yugyeom knows how to entice the crowd well. With his cool aura, laidback vibe, charming visuals, and groovy moves, all eyes are definitely on Yugyeom! Having performed the most number of songs for this show, the fire idol started off smooth with ‘I Want U Around,’ ‘Take You Down,’ ‘All About You,’ ‘Say Nothing,’ and ‘All Your Fault’. He continued with his recent single ‘LOLO’ and resumed with ‘Love The Way’ and another fresh one, ‘Ponytail’. Of course, a Yugyeom stage would not be complete without the presence of his “brothers,” and by brothers, we mean GOT7! Yugyeom took the party up a notch and rocked out with GOT7’s ‘Hard Carry’. He surely upped the ante on this one! AhGaSes, AOMG stans, and hardcore Yugyeom fans all got together and dance the night away!
Last but not least, the idol everybody was waiting for — Taemin gracefully opens his stage with ‘MOVE.’ He then proceeded to greet his Shawols and solo fans with a warm smile on his face. It has also been long since Taemin was back in the country. The last time he was here was in 2017 with his SHINee members for the One K Global Peace Concert. Fans alike were very much ecstatic to see SHINee’s maknae and the all-rounder idol in the flesh once again! Taemin also announced that he was preparing for his comeback titled ‘Guilty’, a solo album in the works! Finishing off his stage, fans got to experience his raw and striking vocals along with his perfectly executed choreographies of ‘Criminal,’ ‘IDEA,’ ‘Hynopsis,’ and ‘Advice.’
It was indeed a night to remember as we didn’t just get one, not two, but THREE powerful and impressive performances of the biggest names in the K-Pop industry! What a show! Big thanks to OctoArts Entertainment for making K-Magic Live in Manila possible.
